Hi, I’m Emre Güler.

I'm an M.Sc. Senior Cyber Security Engineer currently working at Garanti BBVA Technology. I specialize in SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response), security automation, and advanced threat detection.

My career history includes engineering positions at reputable organizations such as Koç Holding, SDN (shiftdelete.net), and 3M Academy.

I began my high school education in İzmir at Mahzar Zorlu Anatolian Vocational High School, which was established in partnership with Zorlu Group and Japan. I specialized in Industrial Automation Technologies with a focus on Industrial Control. During this period, I worked on projects such as writing the PLC program for a fully automated factory and providing real-time control and simulation through a SCADA system. Additionally, I strengthened my technical skills by participating in the Line-Following Robot Competition and winning an award in the Sumo Robot Category at the 6th JICA International Robot Competition. I graduated as the valedictorian and a high-honor student, which laid a strong foundation for my engineering career.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the Faculty of Technology at Pamukkale University. For my senior thesis, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Metin Sayer, I conducted an in-depth study on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and developed a project titled “Smart Parking System with IoT.” This project served as a practical demonstration of IoT’s applicability in solving real-world problems.

In 2020, I was accepted into the Interdisciplinary Mechatronics Engineering Master’s Program at İzmir Democracy University. My research, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Avcı, focused on identifying human activities using IoT-based machine learning. As part of this study, I completed a project titled “Identification of Human Activities with IoT (Internet of Things) Based Artificial Intelligence Learning (AI).”

In 2023, I decided to pursue another master’s degree in Cyber Security Engineering at Ahmet Yesevi University. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mutlu Tahsin Üstündağ, I conducted research on “TR-CERT Vulnerability Data Analysis and Türkiye Vulnerability Map.” This study aimed to analyze Türkiye’s cybersecurity vulnerabilities and create a national-level vulnerability map. I successfully completed the program in 2024 as an honor student.

My passion for learning and teaching constantly drives me toward new discoveries. Beyond technology, I have a deep interest in foreign languages and the arts, particularly theater. As an avid reader, I collect and thoroughly studybooks on manga, graphic novels, fantasy & science fiction, biographies, philosophy, and communication sciences. Additionally, I actively engage in cycling and tennis as part of my physical activities.
